"Continuing with the nod to Susan Lyman, the fellow BSG member that Laura Evans mentioned in her blog, I too was fortunate enough to receive from her the gift of an enigmatic piece of driftwood from the shores of the outer cape. Confounded and mildly intimidated by the striking appearance of this timber, I did what I often do with unfamiliar and perplexing objects/materials, I dissect and dismantle. Reformation fundamentally is an attempt to understand the core elements of the sculpture, the ottoman and the piece driftwood, not for what they were but what they have become through the process of disassembling and reforming as one."
